While reading the regulations the other day, I came across a possible violation. If you are fishing a water that is "Fly Fishing Only" (as opposed to "artificial fly only") you are NOT allowed to attach anything to the line, including floats. A strike indicator not only acts like a float, it is a float. What is everyone's take on this?

What is a split-shot,strike indicator, scent , and droppers. I am sort of new to fly fishing. I have been with my uncle tons and he has just set me up, but now goinbg on my own i will be needing to know this information.
Split Shot: A form of add on lead. "Twist-On" lead is also common with fly fishers.

Strike Indicator: A float that signals (by bobbing under the surface) when a fish hits a sunken fly.

Scent: An odorous liquid applied to the fly to help attract fish.

Droppers: A second fly attached to a second tippet (last section of leader).
