September Fly O' the Month: Saltwater Coho Beach Pattern!! Post your pictures in this months Fly O' the Month Gallery and in the Septembers thread with recipe to qualify for the this months prize. Click this link to see the new monthly prizes and detials (New Fly Line) available for this contest. Happy tying, lets see those Saltwater Coho Beach Pattern's!

Here is the prize for September, provided by Nile Creek Fly Shop.

WF8-BT - XS Buzzer Line (Olive Tip/Ivory)

The now renownded ‘Buzzer’ line was developed especially for optimum performance when fishing the ubiquitous and hugely rewarding style of the buzzer, whether from the bank or boat. This fly line has the same profile as the ever popular XS Floating Ivory, but the last 3-4ft of the front taper section is coloured a neutral shade of olive where it has been purposely designed to sink slowly and improve successful ‘hook ups’ and ‘feel’, when buzzer fishing or straight line nymphing in particular, resulting in countless extra fish.

Coho Blue

Tail: Blue hackle tip
Body: Flat silver tinsel
Wing: Blue over white polar bear, sided by blue then badger hackles.
Originator: Roderick Haig-Brown

The recipe in the "Fly patterns of British Columbia" called for a topping of heron hackle sprigs, which I have omitted.

Here is a creation I call..Wisker Variant..
..this fly flips over leaving the hook facing upwards, now I have taken bows with it in the smaller version size: 10-12, so there is no reason why it should not take salmon in a larger size...

OK. This is a little embarrassing, but I don't seem able to upload images to the September 2010 gallery.
It does not show up in the gallery list.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
T.
Click on you image, top right you will see, "Photo Options" click on it and select edit photo, then you will see "Copy image to:" select in the drop down menu where you want to copy the image to!! :) Its that easy, ;)

I've posted my picture to the september fly of the month galley, and it says the upload was successful, but I still dont see it in there? anyone know why?
It doesnt show because it wasnt uploaded. You might need to do this,

To resize an image, right click on the picture you want to resize and then select OPEN WITH PAINT. When the program paint opens, this picture you want to resize will be open in the paint program. Now if you look up to the left to the menu bar, click on IMAGE you will then see some more options, select Stretch/SKEW or Resize/Stretch, depending on how new the Paint program is. To resize your image, change the stretch or resize value in the HORIZONTAL and VERTICAL from 100% to anywhere from 15%-30%, this depends on how many megapixels you cameras is. Then press OK and under file, SAVE AS and you are done. If you want to see what the image size and dimensions are, click once on the file, move your curser away, then move it back over the file without clicking and it will give you the info in a hover box.

I like that "pickled Herring" (in my opinion) repost with the back longer than the angel hair below it and we may have a winner! I am just biased to angel hair ha ha
