Just a reminder about the upcoming Rivers at Risk: Bute Inlet events in Victoria and Vancouver.
The Victoria event is tomorrow, Tuesday, March 30th from 7-9 pm, at the University of Victoria Social Science and Math Building, Room A120. For more information call Tria at 250 388 9292 or email [email protected]
The Vancouver event is next Tuesday, April 6th from 7-9 pm, at the Heritage Hall, 3102 Main Street. For more information call Andrew at 604 683 8220 or email [email protected]
We're going to have some great presentations, including a slide show by local folks from Friends of Bute Inlet, and talks by George Heyman from Sierra Club of BC, Aaron Hill from Watershed Watch Salmon Society, and Gwen Barlee and Joe Foy from the Wilderness Committee.
There will also be talks by Professor Michael M'Gonigle, EcoResearch Professor of Environmental Law and Politics at the University of Victoria (in Victoria only), and Greenpeace International co-founder Rex Weyler (in Vancouver only).
Again, if you're not in Vancouver or Victoria, stay tuned: over the next couple of months we'll be doing more of these kinds of events in other parts of the province. We’ve had a ton of interest from around BC, and we’ll be letting you know about more upcoming meetings in the next few weeks. If you're interested in helping to organize a meeting in your community please contact me at [email protected]
Thanks for all the hard work you've all done to protect BC's rivers.
