Will be in Nanaimo for a 2 days and 2 days camping at miracle beach park. Any suggestions on fishing the river or the beach area. Never caught a salmon before.But any help I can have will be greatly appreciated.

Well the Oyster is one of the few rivers on the Island open to freshwater fishing, small rainbows and cutthroat, no wild retention. You can also fish the tidal portion foe sea run cutthroat now and Pinks should show up any day now.

There is fishing available at the mouth of the Oyster River, casting spoons can be effective for Cutthroat along the beaches.
