These flies look similar to what I will typically tie for Winter Steelhead fishing...the Minnow looking fly is not typical yet very effective...what I like about these flies is having the ability to change them in the field...different colour cone heads or different weight,different length tubes and so on. I have been using much of the new material called DNA or Hollow Fusion...and I tell you it works for many flies in basically all sizes. When we were in Mexico last month I mixed some DNA fibre with my usual Polar Bear hair in combinations for large Predator fish like King and Barracuda...so now on to Chinook off the kelp beds and other open water locations..
The Black tip on the Minnow fly is actually threaded...so changing cone heads and colour is a breeze
