Hi, I live in Campbell River and am wanting to get into fly fishing. Looking to get info of what kind of flys to use for the time of year or if I could be shown a forum with this info it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Well, that all depends on when and what species you intend to fish for. Check out google for flies pertaining to the species you wish to target, i.e. cutthroat flies, summer run low water steelhead flies.......

There are some cutty flies in the photo section under the cutty fly swap I hosted. Also check the flytyingbug website, its the sister site to this one

Hard to go wrong with a muddler minnow as a starter, then expand into fry patterns, especially chum and coho fry.

You likely will get some action on elk hair caddis as the water warms and hatches emerge.

A grizzly wooly bugger with a gold bead head can also be deadly for cutties up and down the island.
