Well maybe not in San Diego waters, but did a trip down to BOLA early july and it was WIDE OPEN on fish 10-40lbs. Big fish wanted live bait, i stuck with the flat fall iron the entire 3 days of fishing. Side note, we did see a lot of people getting turned around on our trip back north to the states.
Setup
Lexa 400HD 80lb braid, 60lb top shot
Okuma 7'11 Swimbait rod (10-30lb ish rod)
Iron: Caivo flat fall (some where red, some blue, some yellow)
*Make sure to sub if you want to see more! May be doing a paddle board trip down there soon to get on the yellows, dorado and maybe some Jacks.
