Well it is the bi-annual north island trip coming up.
I will be up from the 12th to ? of august.
We use Port Mcneill as a home base and head out from there.
So many beaches and estuaries to fish.
I will of course fish for pinks, but I think that coho will be the target species
this year.We fish a couple of inlets that can produce if everything is right.
That probably sounds familiar to everyone though.
Time to tie up a batch of crab larvae to dead drift for coho.
Just like fishing chironies for rainbows....only different.

Shall we say that the fishing was tough.
We did manage fish every day.but we had to work for them.
Not that I mind working for them, really makes you appreciate it.
Of course it was the old"man two days after you left we figured em out."
Going back up in two weeks.
I have to pick up my new 13' stick and go after some steelies.
After that we are going to try and break the estuary chum code.
The small patterns were still the bomb though. The fish are as everywhere, a couple
of weeks late. The rivers being ditch low makes it a bit harder as well.
Oh well, thats why we call it fishing and not catching.
Anyone else fishing salt?
