Hey all. I'm a long time lurker here and at fishbc. I've had my Sage launch 3wt rod for the Skagit for a few years now and absolutely love it, however I have never really liked the ghost/clear floating line I use with it. I work with copper wire every day that seems to have less memory than...

Anyone ever get a troublesome reoccurring twist in their running line? I have this at the moment with a line I've been using a lot lately for tossing big drys, but I think I might have run across a common sense solution, but I've yet to test it out yet - I figure if I just let all the line out...

I'm new to fly fishing and want to start fishing chironomids. The other day I found these two helpful videos: Wet line http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3H97i4L9EVc Dry line http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c0EiH9tN8VU In my opinion, wet line chironomiding looks easier as you don't have to cast long...

I am planning on switching from a Windcutter to a Skagit line for my 12' 6" spey rod. The Rio guide recommends a 525 grain line. My preferred vendor only carries 500 or 550 grain. Is it better to go up or down from the recommended grain?

I am interested in adding some marks on my fly line and backing to estimate how much is out. Has anyone ever done this? I am hesitant to simply use a sharpie because I am worried that it might damage the line, or am I just being paranoid? Thanks.

I was out last weekend trying a new (to me) head and as usual I was doing fine until i got to about 25 feet of running line out and i was having a tough time avoiding tangles when i shoot the line out. i was wondering how you guys control/handle your line. do you hold it with the top hand...

I fish a clear intermediate for 95% of all my beach/shallow water fishing. My favorite is Airflo's coldwater striper line. Same as I use here in New England for Stripers, Blues, Bonito & False Albacore. But that's just my opinion -- your mileage may vary.
