I'm sorry to see that the FOTM is ending. I understand that it is a lot of work to put together a photo gallery and arrange prizes but if I may make a suggestion. How about keeping the monthly thread with no prize or gallery? Its nice to see all the different flies that people tie and it is a good tool for beginning tiers to get tips on a specific patterns. Just an idea.

    Interesting change up!

Just to address what TieFlier was saying, there's no reason that the contest can't be operated by a member, moderator or admin on behalf of Rick.

I'd volunteer to set it up if people dont mind it being a bit late from time to time depending on the demands of school etc...

I can't imagine that it would be that hard to do, just time consuming.

You'll also have to address some of the complaints, as you can see in the November Poll.

I'd be willing to lend a hand as well, if needed.

I think the FOTM is a nice way to challenge people to tie better and think of ways to trick fish.

    Nah, that's not the issue.

It's just that this site takes a lot of work and Rick is really busy, so he's prioritizing his life.

Really, we shouldn't expect him to entertain we simple SOBs. Click here to enlarge

I've tied up my fly for this competition. It's an homage to my favourite fly tier on here.

Just need to find the bleeding cord to upload off the camera. :S

Sorry for the double post, but I wanted to bump the thread.

The December Gallery isn't up yet, so I decided to upload to my gallery.

    Behold... THE WOOLY SMUGGLER!
