An easy tie that catches all kinds of fish:
4-6 irridescent craft beads (hard to get ones that fit bigger than a size 6 hook). Ice dubbing as a tail and collar around the head. If you tie it right, you dont need to glue the beads.
-put the beads on first, then tie on the tail, whip it off and leave a big enough lump at the tail to stop the beads from sliding off, tie back in at the head, add a few wraps of dubbing (and a wrap of soft hackle too if you want), and whip it off and you're done.
Given the feed that was present when I've used this fly, it serves as a decent immitation of a few different food items: shrimp, fry/minnows, water beetles like backswimmers, damsel nymphs, stonefly nymphs and even caddis.
