      This is my version of a fly from a recent issue of "FlyFusion" (I think).
      The original called for calf tail as a wing, but I didn't have any, and I think the calf tail is mostly for added visibility for the fisher and not for the fish, though it might help it skate if you use this to swing for steelhead.
      If you add a counter rib of white thread, the durability of the hackle is much improved, but you need to be careful not to trap or change the shape of the hackle too much.

      Hook 12 to 8
      Tail- Deer hair or calf tail
      Body- Grey dubbing with silver or gold rib, Olive or Griz hackle palmered up the body
      Wing- Deer Hair or calf tail split into two wings, Olive hackle over that as the front hackle

      Correction, it was in "BC Outdoors" Nov-Dec 2008 not "Fly Fusion"
