Sometimes I put a black foam or deerhair "pouch" on the back like this one. Orange or Chartreuse thorax work best for me. Ribbing is optional for me, I find the fish dont care much either way.
Hook - 12 up to 4
Thread - Black or Brown
Tail - pheasant tail or what ever you have on hand, mallard or hackle will do
Rear Butt - Black deer hair folded over, or black foam
Body - 1/2 brown, 1/2 orange, but other colours work well.
Hackle - Brown or your choice
Wing - Deer hair, or elk hair
