{ppcode}Lovely tie as usual. Should be a very effective cuttie pattern as well later in the spring when the alevin begin to show.

{ppcode}Cutthroats eh? Just reminded me of a very cool happening on a smaller stream up north this fall. My friend was fishing a pool while I was spotting for him, guiding him as it were to the location of the steelies in the pool. He cast his fly to the far bank to swing the fly in the tail out across a couple of resting fish. Out of nowhere, a fish grabs his goods. All I saw from the bluff I was standing on was silver flashing in the deep. It looked a little small. Sure enough it was a decent cuttie, 'bout 20". I chuckled. Just when he was about to get it to hand a HUGE steelhead rose from the deepest part of the pool and looked as though it was going to take a chomp out of this poor cuttie. It followed the hooked fish for about 5 seconds and then return to the deep. Spectacular sight! Neither of us hooked the big one.
