      {ppcode}Cool looking fly, but I'm confused - is it a skater with that big wing off the nose, or is it a wet fly since it looks like it's tied on a heavy iron hook?

      If it's a wet fly, I'd trim off that wing.

      If it's a skater, I'd tied more but on light wire hooks.

      Love the eyes - very buggy.

      It actualy is a wet fly and the wing flutters when stripped but I tied this particular one with deer hair as opposed to arctic fox tail so it will skate on the surface. Will try them both ways. The tail is very flexible though

      {ppcode}Cool - give it a shot for steelies this winter/spring when the weather warms a bit! Had a fish take a fly in the top 6" of water today while the fly was sinking. Sweet head to tail rise. Very trouty. Looking forward to tomorrow when I go back with some dries
