I've tied these to represent various fry that will be emerging shortly from the streams on the BC coast.

For Chinook, the black with heavy parr marks and a white belly seemed to be the key, while for chum, green with a white belly and faint parr marks.

      Hook: #4-8, I used mostly 8 and 6
      Thread: Black
Tail: Wigeon or other heavily barred feather
Rib: I used large tinsel on some, large oval on others
Counter Rib: Fine gold or silver oval.
Throat: On some I added some UV dubbing picked out long under the usual mallard beard
Wing: I used pheasant tail under pheasant rump
Head: Peacock is the traditional, but I put glue on eyes on some, or used white nail polish and a jiffy marker on others for eyes. I like eyes on my minnows and fry patterns.

On some I tried wrapping some copper wire around the hook shank to add a little electric current to the fly to mimic the current all living organisms emit.
