Default Ice, what ice...? I don't see no fricken ice...

Well...it was time to meet the girlfriends Fam this weekend...a few days in the interior, ice everywhere, no fishing to be had...wow...whatta prospect...

I was initially disappointed I wouldn't be fishing this weekend, and insisted the only way I could go would be if I fished the spey for steelies on the friday before we did the drive up...She agreed...

The spey day was a good one, but no fish...:wallbash: Yet the girlfriend was still kind enough to arrange some fishing for us on the Saturday with some good friends of hers once we arrived in the interior... What a wonderful woman she is...with a great family and some pretty cool friends too...

Needless to say, they were awesome people and I enjoyed myself immensely!!!

Fishing the 5 wt's, and seeing ice on every lake around, I wasn't too optimistic about fish this weekend...but that was soon to change...

Now, I don't particularly feel like writing a lot today, so I will leave you all with a pictorial, and a couple movies and if you can enjoy them half as much as I enjoyed my trip, you should all be happy folk...

    White lake...Literally.

    A good sign...?

A river I do not speak of...

A sight that always mesmerizes me...

A brief clip that might just make you leave the city for good...

A movie of the big fish that got my heart thumping, even though it wasn't that big...When I hooked this fish, I tried to give the rod to the girlfriend...she didn't want it at first...

    MOVIE OF RAINBOW, CLICK HERE!
Be patient it will take a bit to download the whole movie!

The "big one"...just for a bit of perspective, that's a big salmon net it's in...the fish weighed in at 6.5 lbs...

    The fly of the day...

One of a few noteable fish...

    Hope you all enjoyed...

More and more, I see your future. Is the property in the family. Great fish and great trip ribby.

p.s. Was that the framework of the honeymoon suite off to the right in your panorama movie?

Wow buddy, great trip you had it seems. Have you ever been to White Lake when the ice is off? I've heard its good fishing. Went there last year but it was really windy. Anyways, I love the area, can't wait to head up to my grandparents and see if I can have half the fun it seems like you did. Thanks for the post.

    Hi,
I was up there on the same weekend, kinda recognize the bridge in the river pic. This newbie was skunked on my one outing, tried the mouth of the Adams in Adams Lake, perhaps a bad rookie choice.
My inlaws all live in Sorrento, been to White Lake lots as well as Herman.
Ice on both still, saw ice fishers on White.
Herman lake is a nice quiet , small decent lake.
I have to move back someday.
Nice pics and a great catch !
