    Default Coquihalla lake

I have driven by this lake so many times and often wondered if it was worth fishing. On the way to Merrit just past the toll booth- right side. Has anyone ever tried it? Is there a public access? Thanks.:beerchug:

I have heard as well that there is great fishing in that lake, I believe that there are two lakes there.....

    Should be public access.

Thanks for the replies. Looks like I will have to take the time to try these lakes. I imagine they will turn on late June early July.

    Hey Thor,

I fished them a couple times while working on the upper Coldwater. I would have to say they are not worth fishing IMHO.

The fish do not get very big as the lakes are high and not very rich. Also it is right beside a loud highway and thats a huge strike in my books.

That said it can be a nice family destination, the resort is nice and the fish are small and easy to catch. The scenery is great too....if you can ignore the Coq.

Depends what you are looking for I guess.

As for timing you are pretty much bang on but if you showed up a little earlier you would be OK.

    Hope that helps,

    Pat

PS if you do stay up there do not be afriad to check out Murphy Lakes to the east

I have fished Murphy before in July(did well). Busy little piece of water though. I have not fished the far lake though. Is it worth the quick land trek? T
