    Question Canucks Dealine Deal!

That was quite a trade deadline yesterday, lots of players traded hands but only one for the nucks, Matt Cooke for Matt Pettinger. Looks like it might be a good swap, Pettinger's salary is less and he is a bigger body with the ability to score some points. Lets hope he has a instant impact to the team and its chemistry otherwise it will be a short playoff season.

    Default faithful

The ever faithful "nucks" fan...I will be surprised if they make the play off,and if they do a better team will miss out. We need to get rid of Naslund and get a captain with balls and guts! Nice guys finish last...and coast only!IMO
We(closet Nuck's fan) have lost the desire to bleed and pay the price....

Default Matt Cooke - too bad

    One Good Matt Deserves another.....
I kinda like crazy little Matt....every team needs a tasmanian devil....someone to just run around and harass people, knock their big guys down and stir the pot.
Unfortunately, the Knucks need some scoring ability and someone who can stand around the net and get garbage goals. They have enough fast little guys with talent but they really need some size in front of the net and in the corner and maybe trading for some size like Pettinger is the step in the right direction.
Getting rid of Naslund....is a mistake - he contributes a lot and has changed his role with coach Alain. He's no longer just an offensive threat - he now has a good all around role.....more complete hockey player.
Canucks need Morrison to anchor a second line and then they won't have any trouble making playoffs.
But they won't advance thru any rounds with their small size up front.
    cheers....

Well you might be quite correct, although the leadership issue for any team need to be in the forefront with grit and determination as a must. Nas' is certainly a quality player and is an asset, yet is he the leader for this team?? Defending against the Sedine Sisters and Nas is simply a matter of keeping them to the outside where they like it,keep away. And that works well until there is a intensity to the game and thenit becomes apparent it is a non factor,in such things as Playoff games where emotions run at a much higher level. Cooke is fun to watch and all teams need an instigator, the canucks have more than their share and won't suffer..
Letsd hope we are only the watchers and not the coaches
