Hey guys just thought I would use my second post here to introduce myself and to tell you a little bit about myself so you know where I am coming from.
My name is Pat and I live in Burnaby, this is just a short term measure while my girl Kim (who is also a fly fisher) is at SFU. I want to move to Smithers or Terrace when she is done, just need to convince her.
I have been fishing for 26 years, since I was 5. I have been fly fishing for 13 years and spey fishing for 2 days. I fish well over 100 days a year, but this includes after work trips during when daylight permits.
I fish about 80% fly now but still break out the 3106 once in a blue moon. My favorite type of fishing is walk and wade dry fly fishing for trout on wild, medium sized streams.
I think it is fair to say I am as much of an explorer as I am an angler. I like to go on big trips to fish new rivers and lakes. Nothing is better for me than walking along a river and having no idea what is around the next bend. I have been fortunate enough to fish many world class still and swift waters in BC, WA, YK and AK.
I have been working in Fisheries for over 10 years and love my job, it has allowed me to see many beautiful places over the years. I also do a lot of volunteer work and love to give back to salmonids and their homes.
My favorite beverages are microbrew beer, JD or Gin and my current favorite type of food is Indian.
Hope that sheds a little light on who I am and what I am all about and I am looking forward to contributing to flyfish bc more in the future.
All the best,
Pat
Welcome aboard Pat.
I heard you are coming to the fishout today.
Hope to see you there.
Sounds like you are an all around sports fisher.
It is great to give back isn't it!
