    Default Tube Vises or attachments

Im looking to upgrade my $10 sunrise tube attachment and my 6/0 blind eye hook for a new tube vise or attachment. I have seen the Snobee tube vise and was quite impressed. What is out there on the market anyone seen or purchased a good one?

    Default Snowbee Tube Fly Adapter

Tonight I was playing around with the Snowbee Tube Fly Adapter on a normal clamp jaw vise, and I have to say it was fun. Eumer, now being distributed in the US by HYCREEK has a very wide variety of accessories for tube flies.Together they produce some very fine results that are going to change the way we tie these flies. The Snowbee Waldron Vise has an integrated tube fly accessorie that brings this to a complete new level. There are several of us here in Canada that are on the Pro-Staff for Eumer and if I can get my flat ass over to the mainland I would love to do a demo .

I have been using the HMH tube adaptor and it has been doing hte job for me. I will be at the Sportman show helping Rick out in his booth on the Sunday March 9th of the show, I will be tying some tube flies as a demo if anyone want to see the HMH adaptor in action. We are in booth 197, I will be tying from 10:00 till 12:00.

Hello Rick one of our club members and myself purchased the rotary renzetti tube fly vise for approx $140.00 a couple of years ago, it also came with three mandrells and a base mount, I have no complaints with it and noticed it is in the $99.00 range state side. I had considered the nor-vise attachment but after using my freinds renzetti the simplicity of it sold me.

Years ago I owned the Renzetti tube vice and was very happy with it, a very good practical tube vice. Having owned it before and the type of person I am, I just have to be different! I know they all do the same thing but I just have to be the the odd ball, quirky fly fisherman!

    Thumbs up Like a Kid

I have to tell you all, for the entire day I have been like a kid...Fridays are our fly tying days at our "Nile Creek Fly Shop"! Normally we have 6-8 patrons come in and for $10 tie flies for 2 hours, keep the flies and accomplish a few things includeing having laughs, learning new ways to be innovative and generally have a great time. Today was the first Tube FLy demo. class..thee were 7 patrons...some had bought the Sunrise thing and the dragonfly thing, I had 3 Snowbee Universal Tube Fly Adapters(for the others) and a Snowbee Waldron Vice(mine) equipped with the tube fly attachment. I have to say I was totally surprised at how effective this vice is! We were useing standard HMH tubes and even the Q tips but the iceing on the cake was the Eumer accessories....sensational....
I am going to work the flies on the Gold River over the next few days...love the weigh of the flies and the action...should be a blast...
Maybe I can send the set-up over to Rick or Fred to work with during One of the tying events..or Shows.
Is there a fly tying Get together coming up?

    Hi Rick

Being a big tube fly enthusiast I have tried just about all of the vises and adapters. I have just tried the new Eumer tube fly tool and I am very impressed. What I really like about it is that it not only comes with pins for different diameter tubes, it also comes with a graduated pin for a friction fit on tubes. The adapter is really cool. Slip on your tube with the correct sized mandrel or pin , slide the pin into the adapter and push it snug, lock the underside locking bolt, this holds the pin tight, then screw out the collet and it will snug the tube even tighter onto the ball at the end of the pin.....only one I have seen like this.

    Cheers

Thanks for the link Paul. Coincidentally, I saw a similar tube attachment on Thursday night that will be marketed by a local LML jon boat builder. It isn't online yet, but when I enquired I was told it would be about $30.
The impressive part was the fact that mandrel has a second screw adjustment just like the Eumer and I hadn't seen that before. What concerned me was the fact that the single mandrel supplied seemed very thin.
The eumer version seems to not only address that concern, but supply four different mandrels and for under $20 and still have the secondary adjustment option. Can I order one through you?
