    Default cutthroat seminar/camp this fall??

we are thinking about throwing a course on large lake cutthroat fishing in the fall when the kokanee return .we would cap it at 20 guys that we could team up ,or people could come in teams of 2. we would have to charge something i just dont know what as of yet . i want to rent a large tent were we could gather at night for seminars ,presentations, cutthroat fly tying demonstrations ,and film showings. on the Sunday a catch and release derby with disposable cameras and tape measures. the participants would have to bring there own camping gear and boat. (2 fly fishers per boat) and food ,but a out door kitchen will be there to cook out of. and you all have to bring your own scotch. rick cant bring anuf for all....lol.. but there it is i would like to hear what you think? if we get a good response ,we will go ahead and start to plan it out....i think it could be a annual thing that could really take off......what do you think??

that sounds cool. I have a couple of questions:
    - access? what type of roads to get in, 4x4, forestry?
    - campground? Can you bring in an truck/camper, or tent only?
    - area? I am assuming that it is in the Powell River area?

    Sounds very interesting Patches.
Give us a few more details and I think it would be a go.
I can always learn a thing or two.

    Default good sites!

yes the road would be a forestry road ,and there are several candidates for lake to have it at .i think that would be top secret till the 20 are registered . all have a camp ground that you could pull an truck and camper into .it would be in the back country here. im thinking in oct.thats the best time to intercept kokanee schools that are headed up the creeks or staging on the shoals. this time is also when you can hit some of the biggest fish of the year! i would have some of the best local producers of the local killer flys to teach at night .and would be sending a list of materials to any member interested in bringing them . your own fly vice and materials would be required if you want to tie .we may have some communal stuff if i can get a few local shops involved e.g out back fly shop,..P.R. out doors . if you have any more questions then put them down ,and any ideas that i could add...?them to

well i would love for that to happen! That would be a good time. Would I be able to take my fish cat 4 deluxe in this lake? lol. if not then im a free partner for anyone. LOL. I think the fishing derby is a good idea as well as the seminars and film showings. I will bring a couple flats of beer....:beerchug:

Default bc speys is in ?

cliff will most likely attend the fall cutthroat seminar this year and tie some flies to target the large cutts of late sept and early oct . with such a line up of tiers we are sure to have some amazing discussions and new flies tied that are sure to change the way we all think about cutthroat fishing.

Sounds great. I might bring limited knowledge about the fine points of cutt fishing but i'll make up for it with a nice bottle of whisky (or two). Looking froward to it, just got to get the summer out the way!

Sounds like fun, let me know hte dates and I wil see if I can make it. The wife and myself are always up for a good weekend of fishing if we are in town.
I love hunting, golf and anything else that keeps others off the water.
