    Default Fly O' the Month take two.

    Well this kinda fell by the wayside, but I would like to try it again.
    We did get some excellant flies the first time I believe.
    Once again the honourable panel of judge, ( me ) will pick a fly, or style of fly and the most exalted members ( you) will post pics of said flies.
    For Feb. 1st lets try your current fave of the prawny/shrimpy variety.
    I just love those things.
    It can be a traditional style, or spey or tube or intruder or scotch induced.
    You get the idea.
    Now to get the materials together.
    First I will need some seal and..............

    Recipe for this GP...

    HOOK: TMC 7999

    THREAD: Orange 6/0

    TAIL: Orange polar bear

    EYES: Golden pheasant feather cut in a 'V' and laquered

    RIB: Oval X-strong gold medium tinsel

    BODY: Orange seal fur

    HACKLE: Orange hackle

    WINGS: Orange golden pheasant breast feathers

    The fly in this photo was tied many years ago and still sits above my tying desk, as it brings back some great memories. 01:00 Christmas morning sitting at my tying desk with a single malt, knowing my wife and daughters were upstairs asleep waiting for the early morning excitement that Christmas morning brings to our home.
