For sure man. I'm off to the Vedder tomorrow, my next trip that way will be some time between the 14th and 18th. I'm taking a guided tip up the Squamish on the 27th. Can't wait for that.

Hey Scott let me know when you feel like heading up towards Squamish. I have intentions to make my way to the Vedder in the near future as well.

"It's a curious fact that estimated lengths and weights tend to make a fish larger than it really is!" Mike Maxwell, 'The Gilly'
When I fished the Bow River, in a younger life, we counted it if it was on for more than 8 seconds. We called it the "rodeo release"--especially because of the tendency for those rainbows to jump--and it counted because we were going to let them go any way. We always felt that it was better to have them release themselves without us having to man handle them.Got a great opportunity to fish the Harrison via jetboat with a new friend. We were fishing for cutthroat in the small eddies and braids near the mouth of the Chehalis. I caught one early on and then nothing for the rest of the day. Does it count as a first catch if it got away 5 feet from me bringing it in? Great time, great weather.
Bow River Rockets!![]()
Starting to wish I lived in the interior, rivers are quiet here. Next time I go on training in Alberta im bringing my rod and gonna fish the Bow for sure
If you get a chance to hit the southern portions, go try the Oldman, the Crowsnest and their tribs. A lot of pretty accessible water with nice, fat westslopes, rainbow and the occasional brown. http://www.youtube.com/user/humblefi.../0/dfaxt7qWb6k

Bragging may not bring happiness, but no man having caught a large fish goes home through an alley. ~Author Unknown
Ahh, the first fish on the fly...remember it well..What a nice Van Isle cutty(my first fish otf). I need to get back home (comox) for cutties, and Steelies.
can't beet that first tug on your fly line, to know something took your presentation
then the fight gets your heart rate up, and the finish is when the fish has been released (unhooked or long line), or kept for the barbie
then its smile time
haha.. awesome.. my first fish on the fly i was fishing dry's on the skagit.. it was most definitely a turning point in my life. ;-)
Well, second tug on the fly line. Was chatting with my local fly shop guy this week and noticed he had some 4-5" long olive sculpin patterns. I never thought I could chuck something so big but recetly heard virtually nothing's too big for bulls. I thought I'd have a laugh and throw that huge sculpin pattern where I saw some bulls last weekend and BAM! But sadly he got away too.
