You are looking for schlappen over marabou for the green lantern and saddle for the purple one. Neither should be expensive nor rare. Probably for 20$ of feathers, you will be able to tie 20-30 of each fly and have lots of marabou left over for something else. And your local shop should have these in stock, if they don`t get them to order in what you want! It`s a great way to meet the people that work there, and likely get your foot in the door for tips on fishing and upcoming sales etc...

And yes, both hackles could be used for a wooly bugger, tho most people use saddle or someting similar

Thanks Btree! by the wooly bugger comment, all i meant i was looking for something that didnt have too big of a stem, like one that could be wrapped around a fly, and that the the feather itself wasn't "webbed" kinda how a pheasants tail is. i've bought so many different kinds of feathers looking for what i want and have turned up empty.
now i've got some buying to do

So that purple fly, the first one you linked, looks like chinese saddle hackel, with some sort of hair and flash wing. The second one, the green one, has a wing of marabou, and a schlapen hackle.

If you want the long fibers on a pack of marabou you'll definately want to hand pick them yourself. Look for blood quill marabou or anything labled Spey Marabou. When looking at the feather, I look at the top half, if that has nice fibers then I'm happy with it and buy it. The fuller bodied marabou is great for muddlers, woolly buggers, sculpins and other such patterns.

Oh man! I shouldn't post this early in the morning. I just realised that I basically posted exactly what btree posted.

Schlappen can be a bit webby, but the saddle won't be.
