Congrats, and what a gorgeous fish! I'm told that it gets easier after the first one although you couldn't prove it by me!
It's a fine line between "hobby" and "obsession!"

I'm sorry to announce that Colin has been temporarily retired from Spey fishing until his partners have at least had a nibble. 4 outings = 1 Steelhead, 2 Bull Trout, and a White Fish.

He's been demoted to taxi / cheer leader.

It has been a long time since I fished the Quiny. I grew up in CR and used to fish both the Campbell and the Quiny. I don't even know what the regs are on that system any more. Do you fish from the Hatchery down to the mouth of the Campbell?

Yes i do, normally in the quinsam campsite, you can walk down to the water from the playground and walk up and down from the river, this is really my first year fishing the quinsam, up until last summer i gear fished the pinks in the campbell only, i turned to fly fishing and now i want fish year round ao i've been trying to get me a steely from the quinny. Only seen one caught but i got a good feeling about this weekend!

Good luck! I've found good feelings to be pretty reliable
It would be a shame to learn every fish's secret, and yet lose the joy of simply fishing
