Well after x-mas, the only money I had left was airmiles Anyhow they had a few cameras to offer and this one caught my eye. I read reviews and finaly ordered it, its a OlympusŪ TG-310 14.0MP . Now just wait a few weeks or months for it to show up Well, what are you all using and has anyone tryed out this camera before in the aquatic environment?

I have the Olympus Tough 3000 (older version of the one you ordered). It has been a great camera for both quality still shots and HD video.
Underwater video is also very good quality and easy to use. I generally don't take underwater still shots because you can't see the target. With video you can move it around and hopefully hit the target.
One downside is the short battery life. When recording video it drains the battery very quickly (i.e. 15 min). I have tried the factory battery as well as some no-name ones and they all behave the same.

I had a Sanyo WP before this and it didn't fail at the seal but the microphone quit one day. No problems so far with the Olympus and it has seen a lot of wet weather. I mostly bought it for rainproofness and it has stood up well.

Ya, I too have the Olympus Stylus Tough 3000 (12megapix) and it can take some amazing pictures. So far no issues with durability and it's been through two years of fishing, work and hiking with me now, but the real test was this last few days with my 14 month old nephew who has figured out that cameras and cell phones can be fun. Of course he likes to taste them before waving them around and then tossing them across the room. So far still in fine shape.

The only issue I have from time to time is when I keep the camera in my pocket all day, then finally get a fish, or see a bear or what have you, and I bring my camera out, the lense invariably has a lot of dust on it. Usually the camera somehow takes fine pictures despite the flecks of dust and crap, but really only in low light conditions. If the sun is out, the dust adds a "effect" which can be interesting at times, but usually detracts from what I was origionally trying to capture. Not sure if there is a rubber lense cap on the market, but I'm thinking of trying to figure something that works.

Other than that, the controls are easy enough for me to use in cold weather. I could use a spare battery at times, but when the weather is warm, the battery lasts for days of use. It's more of an issue when the weather is cold. The battery can get sapped quickly when subjected to single digit temps for too long, but pop it in a warm pocket and the battery can come back a bit.

Not sure if this deal still exists, but I got mine for Aeroplan points, so it didn't cost me a dime.

    +1 here.

Same camera and works a treat. Only thing you want to pay attention to is the 'lock' on the battery cover.

I have an older Olympus (850) and have dunked it under tons of times. never had a leak problem. I bought a couple extra batteries for it at this site http://www.eastcoastphoto.com/ for a fraction of the Sony battery. I actually have batteries for my video cameras from them as well.
This site looks good as well. http://www.canada-batteries.ca/
