don't really fish muddlers for rainbows. Only time the muddler comes out is for bull/dollies salmon and the odd time for steelhead.

    Default clarki

If by trout you mean coastal cutties, then muddlers are excellant.
    Rolled muddlers that is.
Standard gold, with or without a bead is good to start.
After that the combos are endless.
    I tie them in
    pale blue
    peacock
    silver
    green
    olive
Mickey finn ( red and yellow)
    etc. etc.
Have fun. A very versatile pattern.

I didn't know rainbows didn't like muddlers. Now I won't waste my time doing that. Whats the best hook size for the cutthroats?

    Default r-bow muddlers

    Rainbows do like muddlers.
Just depends where you are and how you fish them.
I like #8 and #10 for most of my rolled muddlers.
