    Default Howdy

HI, my name is Mitch. A year ago I moved to the Comox Valley from the mainland. I own a fly rod, saddly I have owned it for 2 years, and never put line on it.. My dad & I were going to start flyfishing when we moved to the Island. That hasn't totally happened yet. I have been out fishing a few times, as yet to have caught anything..

Although Dad caught 3 trout at Jim Mitchell Lake, I caught a plastic beer ring with an empty beer can in it...

I haven't kept a fish in over 20 years... I love fishing, I hate the taste of fish except for deep fried Cod/Halibut.

    Hey Mitch,

Welcome to the site. What size / weight rod do you have? I get back to the island to fish only a few times a year, but if you want to get into it with some locals you should pop by Nile Creek fly shop. Great shop, great people, lot's of help.

    Scott.

    Scott.

I stopped into Nile Creek and found out lots of great info, including when he does his Flycasting work shops :-) My rod is WAY too heavy I found out @ 8wt. Its just a cheap rob that I bought at crappy tire.. I think it'll stay lost, and I'll pick up a nice 5 or 6wt in the new year.
