    Default Morgan Lake (Mission)

    Hey all,

Made a trip out to Morgan Lake last week in hope of getting in to a few Brookies, but it seems the fish were still in the deep waters as I had no luck all day working many different patterns along the shoals. The water is very clear and did not see a sign of any fish. The road is accessible by car but there is a few spots that come close to needing a 4X4. I will be going back this fall and will report on the condition.

Have not fished there, but notable success on big rainbow was recently had in deep water using small bloodworms and red bodied leeches (size 14) when nobody was on the shoals or drop-off areas. Strange too that it seemed some jerky, short movements of the fly every minute or so helped.

Were you at Morgan in the interior or Morgan north of Mission? as the one by mission doesn't need a 4x4.

I was there a few days ago and there were fish eating the bugs on the top a few feet from shore. The problem with this lake is its super small, deep in some places and its waaaaay over fished. I would suggest going to Salsbury lake. I always land rainbows over 12''. Only problem for some people is getting there.

    Bryan,
The lake in question is Morgan down in the Lower Mainland which has a fair number of hawg brookies! Haven't fished there in 20 years but used to get some great fish on Mickey Finns on Type III lines.

I do not wear diapers, however this was a simple warning that there is a few spots that could be dangerous to cars if not driving with extreme caution. If you look closely I said "accessible by car". Thank you for your non constructive input.

Theres a lot of that can be a hazard for pickups as well. The road is fine all the way up to the mud flats. One you go north of that it can be dicey if you driving fast.
