Camping and fishing early AM on East Coast, Vancouver is

Since most campgrounds lock the gates until 7:00 AM, how do you locals handle this? I have a van, and just want a place to sleep for the night- don't want anything fancy, don't even really need an official campsite. Just a quiet place to sleep where I won't get rousted by rangers or police. Don't want to be stuck fishing only what I can walk to from a campground.

Not looking for secret spots, just want to understand the customs.

well, you can camp in most all shopping mall parking lots as well as most rest stops unless posted. Nile was bombarded by hippie surfers so it has signs up now for no camping
