Ooooohhh isnt she puuurrrrdy. I can only imagine how nice that thing must be, I've often drooled just thinking about one. Let us know how well she works for ya, I can only imagine it being phenomenal.
lucky,
Clayton

Finally got my new reel in this week down here in OZ.
I picked up a demo Hardy Zane No.1 with spare spool for $500AU on eBay.
I'm going to be pass by the local flyshop here and swing a few sticks to see about pairing a rod to the reel. I have my eye on the new Hardy Proaxis 8wt saltwater rod. This will become my new all rounder setup, and I'll be using it for Bones and Barramundi up North when I work on the mines.
If I come home for Christmas, I want to do a trip to the island for some Winter runs. I'll be swinging by Nile Creek to look at getting a Beulah Surf Switch Rod. I'll let you know if I'm coming, Salar.
It's supposed to piss this weekend, but I'm still going to go and chase some Bream and Flathead in the river.

Why do I spend more time tying flies than catching fish?
Look very nice. Just a question. What kind of drag system is this reel??
So, I picked up the rod and a new Rio Outbound WF8F/I line...
All Hardy all the time:
I'm not sure how to answer your question, fishing4salmon. It's a click drag system that's open to allow sand and such to drain out if you drop it. Are you looking for the specifics of the construction? Here's a pdf of the Insert that came with the Reel:

And a disassembling of one here:

It`s a disk drag reel . And a nice one at that .
Hi Steve, Back when I was involved with Hardy I had the Original Zane Ti for a trip, the Titanium One,since then they have come down a bit in price to about $8,000.00,a bit rich for my blood unless I was after 800 lb Marlin and other such creatures. The Aluminum Zane is a great reel with a super drag system...you have a fine tool there,my personal next reel is going to be the large Zane,
Barraumndi you bugger,send a pic ...

I wish that I could afford that Zane Ti!
I admit, I did eyeball it a little bit. Lightweight and bulletproof.
I'm excited for the bones and barramundi, but more than that I'm excited for the Mulloway:
They start running shortly in the Swan River here and I kinda bought this rod and reel to target them first and foremost.
Nonetheless, I really miss BC! I'm just trying to make the most of my situation.
I will send pics as soon as everything comes together, and, as always, if anybody is coming to Western Australi (fat chance, right?) let me know and I'll take you out for some black bream and flathead.
