haha, good stories of knuckle busters. Im dying to land, or even hook a Coho in silver colors on my new 7wt. Its going to be a blast. What were you using for a fly when you accidentaly hooked into a Coho?

Coastrider i had mine hit on a pink Clouser tide by Tbar, a fine lad by the name of patches let me try it. The fish hit so hard and I wasn't ready, snap the leader and keep right on going. would have been my first if I might have been paying attention. I now have backed way off on the spool tension.

ive never landed any beach fish. but im goona say springs. only because of sheer mass and the look of those ugly mugs gets my heart pumpin fast!!! ive landed dozens of river pinks and lost my line to what i assume to be a coho on the campbell. not to sure. this year is my salmon year though. just gotta find me a pram or little cartopper for the xterra

Got 6 in 4 hours last September... and averaged at least 1 a day throughout september.
If you know where to look and what to use it's as easy as coho or pink fishing.
Maybe I just got really lucky though... guess we'll find out this year.

Only took a pic of the one I killed that day (which is that one).

I have a problem with dragging fish up onto barnacle rocks just to take a picture, and it's not very easy to tail a spring in waist deep water and take a pic at the same time. Got some pics of them in the river though on the same fly just donwsized. Had a couple even hammer this fly top water in both salt and fresh as I was dragging to cast.

So what's the verdict after this year? I agree they're not impossible at all, if you can find them.

    Verdict was bad.
Made it out one day at the very beginning of the run, 2 followers and that's it.
Had a 10 day research trip with the school, so didn't make it out again before they were all in the rivers... guess it'll have to be next year!

    Cheers,
    Dan
