any suggestions for coho flies for vanouver island?

SInce I spend many hours fishing for Coho off the beaches I would suggest the Coho Bugger(AKA California Neal) in pale blue ,bead chain eyes ,or bead head; or without. Cathy's Coat is another great fly, Limbers' Wizzard, Pearl Mickey,Mickey Finn, Green Needle fish patterns and so on...sizes vary from #6 to#10...I have caught all my Coho on teh Blue Bugger except One tonight on the Pearl Mickey
Floating Line is good,ghost tip is also popular.
Black Creek was particuarly hot today...some friends were there and were into many fish while fishing in belly boats cruising the large waves?

i was looking more for freshwater patterns, but you're info is also good. I have done a fair bit of beach fishing for pinks, but I just bought my first eight weight, so I want to go for some coho's off the beach as well this year.

Do you have any favorite freshwater patterns?

There are too many to list although a good one is always the Pearl Mickey,Blue Brite Fly,Coronation, flash fly and other flashy patterns...I have also found that useing a silver bead on the fly really helps entice a hit..
