Nice pattern. Looking at C's in the photo, there appears to be a lot of red, is that the body of yours C?

Turk's Tarantula
Pieced this together from internet search:
TYING INSTRUCTIONS
HOOK: Mustad 9671, Size 6-2
THREAD: Light Colored, Tan, Yellow, Green
BODY: Spun Deer Hair Plain or Dyed
WING: Underwing: Pearl Metallic Flash. Wing: White Calf Tail. Overwing: Stacked Deer Hair Tips
ABD: Antron Dubbing - Green, Yellow, Olive, or Coachman (Peacock Tail & Red Floss)
LEGS: Black or White or White Stripped Rubber
TAIL: Golden Pheasant Tippets or Lady Amherst Tippets
Wing should start about half way down hook shank. Use 3-4 strands pearl flash doubled over & cut midway down tail. Tie rear set of legs after white calf tail, leave two ribs of rubber together until completed then separate. Bend legs tied in figure-8 pattern straight across hook shank. One more spin of deer hair in front of legs to complete. Cut hair with razor blade, watch out for the legs, final trim with scissors. Separate legs, on small hooks can be tied with only 4 legs.
FISHING NOTES
Excellent dry fly especially for Cutthroats. Good visibility and floatation for fast moving riffles. Mimics variety of insects including hoppers & stoneflies.

Ya, it looks like that one is a red variant of some sort...I'm particularly interested in that one, but I guess I'll have to pop by the shop one day when I can.

anybody been out? I went to nile for an hour yesterday.... 1 14" and a fish atleast 24" hit the dry fly but no go.....wonder what it was!!!! this morning went to miracle and got two small ones.... saw a few on the surface....seals were out in full force. happy canada day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
C, thanks for sharing the great photo and report. I always carry Muddlers but had forgotten all about Turk's Tarantula. It is being added to my tying list tonight. I love the idea of using Lazer Wrap to make it pop.
There are two varieties of coastal Cutthroat Trout, resident and sea-run. This beautiful, foot-long Puget Sound sea-run cutthroat trout was my biggest fish landed on a strange day of fishing a minus tide. It angling is fair to good.
