Default Help me please-how to spend 3 free days in BC

    Hi folks,

I'm an Oregon guy in need of some help. I have a 2 day business trip to Vancouver in mid-October (I just love it when those trips put me close to some good fishing). The schedule just happened to fall on a Tuesday and Wednesday and the Monday before happens to be a national holiday, so I have Saturday through Monday evening to fish. I plan on coming in Friday night and possibly driving to a fishing location so I can maximize my time.

My problem is this - I've never been to BC and want to know where to go and what to target? I am happy to target small stream trout, nice lake-fed bows , or steelhead/salmon. I'm also happy to drive all night if need be. I have a pretty diverse arsenal or rods/reels etc. so the only limiting factor is what I can fit in my luggage.

If you had only 3 days where would you fish?

Thanks in advance. If I can reciprocate by providing some info on where to fish in the states I'd be happy to help.

    Default Powell River area?

I love big coastal cutts. What's the drive time from Vancouver? Will I need a boat?

Default 3-4 hrs drive....but mostly on the boat

short plane ride or 2 ferries from van . boat helps but a small personal boat is all you need . lots of lakes .....lots of shore lines on the salt .and all wild fish.....no stocked farm fish!

Dragon Lake , located at Quesnel B.C. central interior , has awesome rainbow trout fishing , in the 18 inch to 26 inch size. About 7 hr. drive from Vancouver. We have here a waterfront B&B accomadation with boat and tackle rentals available , and licensed guide also available if needed. $75.00 a night per person for the B&B.
