I've had no experience, but I think chatreuse, blue, and white, or so I've read anyway.

Me neither, but I bet if you tied up a few Clousers in those colors, it would be a good start. With the epoxy work you've been doing on your minnows you'd probably be able to make a nice head on them.

I've been told to really watch the quality of hook you use when you are tying for any salmon larger then pinks. Food for thought.

I would recommend keeping your flys unweighted as they are a bit easier to cast at distance. Chartreuse and orange are popular colours. There are lots of colours that will work the more important thing is to get your fly in front of the fish.

Tie sparse. That one point there I find get's over-looked more than anything. Silver tinsel body, White or Yellow wing of about 6-7 single strands of bucktail, two strands of krystal-flash, and then an overwing of about 7-10 strands of blue or green bucktail. Black thread head. Super simple, but effective.
Remember, KISS- Keep it sparse, stupid. (Yeah, I ripped off "Keep it Simple, Stupid", but whatcha gonna do!).

    Hope that helps!
