Why do I spend more time tying flies than catching fish?

I'm not sure who tied the blue fly with a sparse maribou wing and tail, with a blue flash body and bead chain eyes, but it bought my first coho out of a riverf ( and on any fly yesteday ). It was on the Squamish, almost at the end of a swing. I didn't get the fish ight to hand, I had the leader in hand and was just starting to kneel into the water when it gave one last head shake and rolled over, spitting the hook.

    Good times.
