the north and south populations of bull trout and dollies is a fishery that has to be understood if we are to protect and preserve them. little is understood about population density and migration patterns of these fish north of the sqamish to the bute inlet and no bull trout have been documented in this area as of yet, though i do believe that they are up at the end of jevis inlet .The next place where you see bull trout is the south gate and homanthko rivers and again i do believe that they do populate the toba river system.the D.N.A. sampling that we do will help bio's understand and answer some of the questions of how far spread will the populations be ? and do isolated populations stay or stray ? how does the hybridization of these species affect habits ? and so on . i will be at Anglers west giving a presentation on this and the life and habits of the giant cutthroat of powell rivers out back on sat the 11th . I incurage any one interested in these topics or if you have anything to add or that might help, to come down to the store and lay down what you know about these amazing fisheries . if you cant i will do my best to answer questions and relay important data to the places needed , so we can all work towards a grate and well managed bulltrout and dolly fishery for are children .
