    Default What rod is this?

Does anyone know what rod this is? Who makes it?

The screw-in extendable butt looks like an interesting idea. A nice thing to be able to do in the afternoon, or if you are in a tight spot, especially if you have a line or the skills that allow both single handed and two handed casting.

Its either a Guideline or a Loop I believe. Theres an European company named Switch Butt (caution when googling) that has an interesting concept, they use a cam lock system as opposed to s screw type butt, very slick and very expensive. I've played around with my own system but it does have its limitations, i.e. can only be installed on rods 6wt and up.

I toss a Beulah Tonic head (320gr) on this 6wt and it works quite well, looking at potential future opportunities with this system.

Ya, I was thinking about doing it to an 8wt. Might look into something else if it's that expensive.

Thanks for the info. Interesting gadget

It`s a Gary Anderson rod . Jeff Putnam sells his own line of spey rods , and I think they are all Gary Anderson builds .

If you ever get a chance to cast one of Gary`s rods - do it . You won`t be disappointed . .
    I have a 12' 3 weight spey rod of his that also converts to a 9' 4 weight single hander . Awesome stick(s) .
