It seems that the #1 type of line recommended for switch rods is a skandinavian type head. I know that Rio, SA, Beulah & Snowbee all make these sorts of lines.

A google search pointed me here: http://www.deneki.com/2010/09/switch...elhead-scandi/
And it seems that they recommend a Rio Skandi head http://www.deneki.com/tag/steelhead-scandi/

Another reliably bunch of guys review the entire line of TCX switches and give recommendation on various line types depending on the style of fishing you want to do http://www.flyfishusa.com/newsletter/091310/

Good luck with your search for the perfect line. If you are on the island, I would make a point to stopping by the Nile Creek Flyshop as well.

The line you will want to use will depend on the waters you plan to be fishing and what you are planning to fish for. Different lines have their advantages and disadvantages for different applications. So what are your plans for this stick? And (because I am curious) what do you think of the rod so far? I am pretty curious about this line of 'switch' rods would like to get a review.

I've got a short chance to cast this rod with a skagit head, it was unbelievable. Things a cannon! Give a shout to Nile Creek and ask them. I don't believe he's looking into getting a scandi but more of a fire, get in the slot and swinging intruders with a heavier head. Word up Beans! cheers.
