    Default Pink Flies

    Anybody out there have any fave pink patterns?
    I tend to use crazy charlie or clouser style to minimize foul hooking when the fish are in thick.
    Has anybody used circle hooks for these fish?
    I have been thinking about trying those as well.

    Default Handle Bars

    Hello FW;
    Although Pink Salmon fishing is different here on the Island from the Fraser style....some of the better crossover patterns we have used effectively on the Campbell River are the Handle Bars and a very light Blue Coho Bugger or in Crystal Braid Chartreuse Green .The Campbell River is much faster moving water and circle hooks are great to prevent foul hooking these great little fighters...in the Salt water circle hooks prevent many hook-ups but for another reason.

    Default patterns

    Hey C.
    I use the handlebar quite a bit as well.
    Usually I tie it with bead chain eyes so it rides crazy charlie.
    Last year I found that a very small orange flashabou euphausid
    worked very well off the beach.

    Default Flash

    There is also a fly called the Ugly Bug used here on the Island that we acidentally created about 8 or 9 years ago...it is also labeled the SWB Shrimp (Shawn Brown) that is pictured in Les Johnson's new Salt Water Flies' book. I did ask Rob several years ago to have these tied for the market via Umpqua;don't know what he did!. However,One of the simplest flies I have ever tied is called the Flash ,and on bright Sunny days and Mornings this fly has produced many fish amongst many fly casters that are going through their boxes of flies in a panic ,looking for something that works because this dork in the middle of them is catching too many fish(Moi).
    9394 Tiemco SS(#8 or 10), Silver halographic Mylar Body ,short tail of Crystal flash(1/2")...small bead head silver or brass... you know the drill...I like to coat the mylar with Nail polish or similar...many times I have considered the smell of Nail polish to be of concern...my thoughts
