    Default Emergency Capilano Coho Help

Double-posting this in here, since it's borderline salt and people in the Salt section seem to be talking more about Salmon.

Okay, hit the Cap today which was an experience. Couldn't believe the amount of garbage for a start, the number of people fishing secondly, and the... how should I put this.... well, let's just say that some of the company left a lot to be desired.

Anyway, I'd prefer to be fishing somewhere else but been working a ton, and there are lots of people (gear chuckers) catching fish so going back tomorrow AM early while the Girlfriend is asleep.

So my normal setup is a 5-weight, but I picked up an 8 weight combo, pretty much brand new on a business trip for $60.00 Trouble is it only has a floating line. I tried a few very small split shots but am still not getting down to the fish, although I did catch a couple of trout. So here's the question.... if I put my 5-weight reel with the full sink onto the 8-weight rod am I asking for trouble?

Well, you could try bringing a bag next time... I find litter bugs are contagious. If there is already trash there, some people feel less guilty about leaving more. Also, maybe setting a good example will help too.
