will definitly be fishing for pinks this year... is there any action for them closer to the valley like cresent beach, or white rock.
usually i am fishing for them north shore areas when i am hunting coho.
Anybody going to do some beach fishing for pinks this year?
I know we can get them a few places locally.
I have had success at Cates Park. There must be more ares around.
Do some exploring. These fish can really get you pumped. Sometimes you just need to catch a lot of fish.
But they can get finicky. This has happened to me more than once up Island.
Don't be fooled into thinking that they will only take pink patterns.
Dark green can be killer. Last year on the Island, pearl orange was the ticket.
Blue should also be carried.
Have fun and good luck.

love to swing
Not sure about the local beaches.
I don't see why not.
Good excuse for some exploring I say.
I have seen cutties and coho down there in the past.
haven't checked it out in a few years.
I would love to try some beach fishing. Is it better in any particular spots? I know guys who do pretty well in Point Roberts with buzz bombs and such right off the beach during the runs. I'm in White Rock right and I figured there wasnt a hell of a lot to pull in from around there.
if you poke around and pay your dues there is beach fishing to be had on the local beaches.
It is all about timing.
I.E. when do the fish enter a particular river = fish the beaches around the mouth 2-3 weeks before.
Some beaches fish better on different tides.
A small boat can be an asset at times. High tide, no backcast room.
Sometimes the fish just cruise out of range.
Don't be afraid to use two handers on the beach either. I did last year and got a whack of small coho up island on zippermouth beach.
Actually any beach that has sweet water flowing into it can have fish, as well as adjacent beache up and down from the mouth.
Have fun and let us know how you do.
O.K. if you have a boat and want to fish salt for pinks staging for the fraser and points south P.M. me.
Speaking of boats, a pontoon or cartopper works wonders at Cates Park.
