    Default Carp patterns

All right I know they are introduced and not trout.
But sometimes I need to feel a deep throbbing bend in my rod.
Oh ya and all that I catch will end up as fertilizer.
Anybody out there have any favorite patterns?
Come on now I know I am not the only one.
I am thinkin bead head soft hackles, or maybe little crayfish patterns.

from some of the expert carp fishermen any sort of bead headed nymph like pheasent tails, hare's ear is where it's at. I really do need to give it a shot.

Check out the May issue of BC Outdoors Sportfishing Mag. There is a very good article entitled Carp on the Fly. They don't mention specific flies, but rather talk about presentation. Any fly that gets down fast and has movement built in e.g. marabou, long hackle, rubber legs, etc could prove effective.
Bragging may not bring happiness, but no man having caught a large fish goes home through an alley. ~Author Unknown
