Hey all. I haven't targeted coho on the fly yet and I've been trying to get an idea of when the runs hit the local systems.
I'm a bit confused from what I've read and I'd appreciate any info or links (PMs welcome if you prefer).
One fellow I spoke with indicated that he had some good success recently at the mouth of the....![]()

Why do I spend more time tying flies than catching fish?
I'm in Richmond. I'd consider local anywhere within a couple hours drive, but within an hour would be nice.

for coho in the river, you are typically thinking "ok now it's fall"..from what I've seen, the best time would be starting mid Oct with the show finishing off early december. Just my ballpark...correct me guys if I'm wrong.
As an FYI, check out the backroads mapbook for your area of interest...they offer enough info to get a good start, but I find that the descriptions of theruns are often quite optimistic, with respect to the strength and size.
