I would think that you would have a problem on lakes too. Try Fishcat.

Hey all,
Im looking for a new pontoon boat at the end of the summer, but am not too sure what too look for. I've been looking around but still, not too sure what to look for. I'll be looking in the range of 500 give or take, and one thats reliable enough to take it into the rivers as a drift boat, as if it starts falling apart in the lake, no big but in the river then I may have a problem.
Any suggestions or advise would be great,
Clayton
Why do I spend more time tying flies than catching fish?

Clayton-Do a search on this site, and on the sister site to this one: bcfishingreports.com. There are many many reports and threads on exactly this topic. Short answer though; Outcast, Waterskeeter, BucksBag, and Dave Skadden all make boats that fit into your criteria. I have (or have been with people) running rivers in models of all these boats. Go to the websites for the various manufacturers and get an idea of what they have available to you. Buy new if you want, or keep an eye on the various fishing forum classified sites for a good used boat. MikeD on BCFR had a great boat for sale earlier (it might still be available), I just bought a "good-as-new" FishCat 10-IR standing platform boat for $600.
Bragging may not bring happiness, but no man having caught a large fish goes home through an alley. ~Author Unknown
Avoid Bucks Bags if you plan on going anywhere near moving water.
