    Default The Ultimate Boat

I am curious to know what you guys think the ultimate boat setup would be? Would you use a flat bottom aluminum boat, a pontoon boat, maybe even a simple belly boat, or something else? What would be some key features that you would want? Carpeted bottom? Comfy captain chair? Electric motor versus an Outboard? Anchor pullies? Fishfinder?

I am getting restless since I have not been able to get out much so I need to pass time till i can and dream about catching the big one.

    Default belly boat

I own A water skeeter belly-boat its amazing .Although it is a little big and drags a little ,I find it to be real comfortable and gives me all the room and storage I need when out on the lakes.Even when the wind is up a little it is quite easy to maneuver .When fishing lakes like community you need to sneak up on those fish as the lake is only 5-6 feet deep in most areas with a few drops,so a belly boat is critical to have on any trip I think.

I think a 1440M jon boat, modified with tunnel, and a merc 25hp 2-stroke, with both prop leg and jet. That way you could rip up the rivers and still throw it on top of the truck and get into the 4X4 lakes also. You'd have to have an electric motor, and maybe rip the bench seats out, but other than that I would say it would be close to perfect for me

    Default Ultimate boat

    What only one?
You can't do it all with one boat.
Sorry guys but it is the truth.
You can show this to your wife if you like.
    I have at this moment.
    1240 smoker craft 6hp evinrude/30lb electric
10' 6" welded aluminum mini drifter
    1648 smokercraft highly modified 70 merc w/pump
working on a 18' wooly right now
also in the works is a pontoon.
That will almost do it for me.
I guess to finish it off I should have the biggest North River out there, with the big block of course.
That way I could drag any one of the other boats up to the real skinny water.

As of now I only have a float tube and I have been dreaming of getting a smaller aluminum because it would make fishing much more comfortable. I have been pondering getting a spratly flat bottom boat. Probably a 10 footer so that i could have two people if neccesary. I like that they are wider then the jon boats. If i got one i would have to get lots of goodies to maximize comfort and increase my odds of catching the big one. But as of now its only a dream.

I noticed that the 10ft spratleys come in 3 different widths now. I should have added that my little boat is a 1436 jon with a 20hp prop, it gets me most places I want to go, but I do have to carry a few tools and a spare prop just in case :P
