FINALLY! (Yes, I am yelling). Thanks for the report Fred. Strangest year, weatherwise, I've seen.

Nicola Valley Outdoors Fishing Report for June 21st 2010
Brookies.Love them or hate them. They can be notoriously finicky. Or deceptively easy. Yesterday they were of the finicky variety. Steve landed two and I had two good hits. Oh ya we were up at Edna. Just so you can’t say I never told you, it was a JK red/static chironi and an as yet to be named uber cool damsel pattern. Hey maybe we just named it!
Island lake Caddis are just starting to come off. According to our source there have been a few on the boats in the morning, but nothing during the day yet. It should happen soon. Keep your fingers crossed.
Harmon is still fishing well with trolls and a wedding band with a worm. Power bait fished off the bottom is also producing.
Lots of smaller fish are being caught at Walloper. I can’t wait to take my grand kids!
Tunkwa and Leighton are fishing fair to middlin with chironis.
As of this afternoon Marquart was fishing allright with the, you guessed it, chironamid.
Lundbom fish are liking micro leeches and damsels.
The mayfly nymphs in olive and grey are also producing just about everywhere as well. It is almost the time of the dragon fly as well.
It looks like the rivers are starting to drop a little so that means trout fishing with the four weight soon.
The kokanee are starting to bite in Nicola now as well. Red, orange and pink are the colours of choice for these tasty little guys. Your favourite lure tipped with something in those colours should do the trick.
The kids ponds at Kentucky/Alleyne are fishing great as well. According to our trusted source, you know who you are, the swirly multi-coloured power bait was the ticket.
Hopefully after the April like weather we endured Sunday afternoon, the summer temperatures will stick around and everything will get back to normal.
Don’t forget the sunscreen.
Have fun out there.
Tight Lines,
Fred Watts
