Nicola Valley Outdoors Fishing Report for June 15th 2010

Just to keep things real, the fish gods made sure the day I decide to go fishing the winds would blow.
Steve and I tried for carp briefly in Nicola Lake but decided the waves were too big to pound through down to the fishing grounds. We will return for the golden ones.

So off to Dardenelles we go. Same. All the folks there were coming off the lake. I met a friend from the coast and she said it was slow and the wind was tough. Nicole is a good rod so on that note we decided to go for a bit of a drive.

Plateau was windy and we only had one hit on a damsel for Steve.

Bleeker was fairly slow as well for our source.

Marquart good on worms with bobber

Roche size 16 green chironamid brass/gold bead was the ticket for our tusted source who would rather knit than tie flies.

The end of Nicola is still fishing pretty well with bait for rainbows and anything else that swims in the lake.

Harmon produced 7 nice rainbows this morning for a father and son team trolling with lures tipped with worms.

Right now it is all about the weather. With all the fronts moving through and the lower than normal temperatures, it will just take a few good days of weather to make it all good again.

Here is something I realized a long time ago, and it really does hold true. “ The best day to go fishing, is the day you can go fishing.”
